CHAIRMAN – BODY OF BENCHERS

Chief Adegboyega Solomon Awomolo, SAN was born on 19th September, 1947. He had both his Primary and Secondary education at Orile-Ilugun before he proceeded to University of Ife (now, Obafemi Awolowo University) where he bagged his LLB (Hons) in 1977 and he was called to the Bar in 1978.

After his youth service he joined the Chamber of Chief Tunji Arosanyin & Co, in Ilorin. Having served under the tutelage of Chief Arosanyin, in 1983 he set up Awomolo & Co (Mosaic Chamber) located in Ilorin and later in 2004 relocated to Abuja.

Chief Awomolo was the first Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Osun State and he was the first man to rise to the peak of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (1992) in Osun State.

He has served in various Committees of the Body of Benchers and was appointed a Life Bencher on 29th March, 2007. Chief Awomolo was elected as the Vice Chairman of the Body of Benchers on the 30th of March, 2023.

Chief Adegboyega Awomolo is a fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Advance Legal Studies and Chartered Institute of Arbitration. A former member of the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC). A member of the National Executive Council of the Nigerian Bar Association. He is an active member of the International Bar Association and Commonwealth Lawyer Association. He is the Chief Executive Officer of the Awomolo and Associates where his adorable wife, Chief Mrs Olufunmilayo Awomolo is also an Associate partner. He was made the Asiwaju of Igbajo land in 2015. His hobbies include walking, reading and research.
