Hon. Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, GCON holds a distinguished career in Nigeria’s judiciary, culminating in his appointment as a Justice of the Supreme Court in 2011. Prior to this esteemed position, he served as a Justice of the Court of Appeal from 2005 to 2011, having risen from the ranks of the State High Court of Oyo State, where he was initially appointed as a Judge in 1992.

Beginning his journey in his hometown of Iseyin, Hon. Justice Ariwoola attended the Local Authority Demonstration School, Oluwole, before completing his secondary education at Ansar-Ud-Deen High School, Saki. He pursued his passion for law at the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), graduating with honours in 1980. Following his call to the Nigerian Bar in 1981, he swiftly commenced his legal career, eventually establishing his own firm, Olukayode Ariwoola & Co, in 1989.

Throughout his career, Hon. Justice Ariwoola has demonstrated a commitment to public service, serving as a State Counsel on the National Youth Service and later as a Legal Officer in the Ministry of Justice, Oyo State. His dedication to justice and legal excellence led to his appointment to various positions, including Chairman of the Armed Robbery Tribunal in Oyo State and membership in election tribunals and appeal courts across Nigeria.

Beyond his judicial duties, Hon. Justice Ariwoola is recognized for his contributions to legal education and professional development, participating in numerous international and national conferences and workshops. His passion for continuous learning and engagement has taken him to destinations such as France, Atlanta Georgia, the UK, and Dubai.

Outside the courtroom, Hon. Justice Olukayode Ariwoola GCON finds joy in family life and personal interests, including reading, music, photography, and shopping. His dedication to justice, coupled with his multifaceted interests, embodies a well-rounded and esteemed jurist of Nigeria.
